Recently named 2007 Executive of the Year by the Puget Sound Business Journal, Kemper Freeman, Jr.,
is the third generation involved in the ownership and development of Bellevue Square, a super regional
shopping center located in Bellevue, Washington. Mr. Freeman's development company, Kemper Development Company,
has also developed two mixed-use projects: Bellevue Place, a 1 million square foot project comprised of two office
buildings, retail space and a 382 room Hyatt Regency Hotel; Lincoln Square a 1.3 million square foot project comprised
of 310,000 square feet of retail, a 42 story tower featuring The Westin Bellevue with 337 luxury rooms and meeting space,
148 luxury condominiums on the upper 22 stories, and a 28 story class “A” office building.
Projects underway in 2008-2010 include a complete remodel of Bellevue Square as well as an expansion of the shopping center to include a village of luxury retail stores and a 5-star boutique hotel. The expansion of the Hyatt Regency Hotel which began in 2007 adding 351 guest rooms, as well as additional meeting and banquet space. The expansion of Lincoln Square is scheduled to break ground in late 2008 on the site to the south of Lincoln Square. Kemper Freeman is a past Chairman of the International Council of Shopping Centers as well as the past chairman of the association’s Government Relations Committee and has served as a Trustee since 1987. He serves as a Board Member of Overlake Hospital and PACE – Performing Arts Center Eastside. Mr. Freeman has a long history of involvement in political and civic activities. He is a former Washington State Legislator, and has served on the boards of numerous business and civic organizations. |
