The Overlake Service League 2010 Drive for Dreams Golf Classic was held May 24, 2010 at The Golf Club at Newcastle. The weather couldn't have been better. Morning overcast gave way to beautiful blue skies and warm temperatures offering golfers incredible views, very little wind, and big smiles on a beautiful spring day.

Thank you to Rosalynn Sumners, Olympic Silver Medalist Ice Skater, Sean Locklear, #75 Seattle Seahawks, and Jamie Huscroft, former National Hockey League player.

2010 LOCAL SPORTS CELEBRITIES

Sean Locklear, Patrick Smith, Anthony Myers, and Mike Keenan.
Our gratitude to Seattle Seahawks Sean Locklear, our Celebrity Chair. The generous spirit and sense of community that Sean brings to our event each year inspires everyone to DRIVE FOR DREAMS of our local youth and their families. Sean spent his day on the course with two deserving local youth, who were all aglow at the end of the tournament.

LUCKY WINNERS

Kim Brace, 50-50 raffle winner.
The Drive for Dreams golf tournament was followed by an evening Awards Dinner and Auction. Hundreds of supporters and friends joined our golfers for an eventful culminating evening program. Guests watched from the veranda during our cocktail hour while a helicopter loaded with almost 1,000 numbered balls hovered and released over hole 18. The lucky $1,000 winner of our Helicopter Golf Ball drop is Sally Wright. Congratulations Sally!

And the lucky winner of our 50-50 raffle is Kim Brace. This raffle is drawn during our Awards Dinner and always creates a stir when announced. Kim won $1,280, one-half of our total raffle sales from the entire day and evening. Congratulations Kim!

SPECIAL THANK YOU'S

Lexus of Bellevue foursome:
Brian Hill, Jim Roes, Mark Babcock and Cary Falk

Our top-selling Live Auction item was the Lexus "Champions for Charity" that sold for $12,000. The package included 3 days of play for two amateur golfers in a 54-hole tournament on three great pebble beach courses. A huge thank you to Mark Babcock, General Manager of Lexus of Bellevue, for his assistance in procuring and arranging this donation. And for going the extra mile to be sure this item included an incredible hospitality package, with accommodations at the Inn at Spanish Bay for four and luxury outings and receptions. Thank you Lexus of Bellevue for helping us to reach our goal.

A heartfelt thank you to John Howie, for his generous Fund-a-Need incentive that motivated guests to donate at the $100 level. John donated a $50 gift certificate to Seastar Restaurant, John Howie Steak, or SPORT Restaurant and Bar, to every $100 Fund-a-Need donor. Due to his efforts we raised an additional $7,200 in a whirl of bidding. In total, our Fund-a-Need raised $37,850. These are cash donations that go directly to support our Focus on Youth and Emergency Assistance programs.

BE SURE TO JOIN US NEXT YEAR!
